This is where it gets complicated. In Colorado you can only legally drink raw milk from a cow you own! It is illegal to actually sell Raw milk in Colorado! To solve this problem Colorado allows Farms to operate a herd/milk share programs.
A herd-share, is co-ownership in a privately owned herd of dairy livestock. But don't worry, you don't have to take home a cow to enjoy fresh Raw milk. The great thing about a herd-share is it allows your family to have access to Raw Milk without needing a cow in your backyard, or forcing you to break the law by purchasing Raw Milk illegally
To get raw A2 milk from Rocky Ridge, first you buy your share of our milk cow herd. After that you contract with Rocky Ridge to care for and milk the cows, in exchange you pay Rocky Ridge cow-care fees in proportion to the shares you own. That means, we do all the milking, feeding, and cleaning up and You get to enjoy a share of the best milk on earth. We make it simple to join just follow the steps below.

Step 2
Once you have joined our herd share please fill out our herd share contract and submit it . This will take care of statisfy the legal requirements of the state. This will open in a new window.
Step 3
After you have purchased your Herd-share membership & Filled out your Herd-share contract, you will receive an invoice for your Cow-Care Fees. Cow-care fees are billed Quarterly, January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, & October 1st. The cow care fees are listed below, the more milk you need the more you save.

As a herd share member you can also add other Raw Dairy products to your share membership. Add on's are available for Weekly or Monthly delivery on the first Milk day of the month and are billed quarterly.

Frequently Asked Milk Share Questions.
WHAT hAPPENS IF i WANT TO Change or CANCEL my Herd share membership?
If you need to Cancel or Change your Herd share membership all you have to do is send an email. You can do this anytime, but if you are canceling we always appreciate 30 days notice so we can fill your spot.
If you cancel , your herd share buy in will be refunded along with any unused cow-care fees. If you need to make a change to your membership you will be billed for any cow-care fees or buy in fees due or if you are cutting back your share you will be credited for any cow-care fees at the next quarter.

What if I am out of town and Can't Pick up milk?
If you let us know ahead of time, you will be credited for the Milk you don't pick up. If you miss a pick up with out notice you will not be credited.
What If I need extra Milk and how do I pay for it?
After regular share have been filled, there is usually milk leftover, and these bottles are provided as available at the farm or can be ordered a week ahead of time for customers who pick up milk at a drop point.

We make that simple! To pay for your extra milk, eggs or other farm stand goodies at the farm you simply fill out one of our order slips and place it in our payment box. You can leave a check, cash or choose bill me later.

We Milk our Cows using a milking machine. This helps to reduce the risk of contamination of the milk. It is washed and sanitized before each use.
What do you Feed your Milk Cows?
The cows that we milk for the herd share have 24 hour access to quality grass and alfalfa hay all season as well as fresh grass during the grazing season. They are not fed any grain.
