Is Raw Milk Safe?
Is this Raw Milk Safe?
In our opinion Raw Milk is a very safe food however, Raw Milk has not been pasteurized and must be produced carefully in order to reduce the risk of contaminating it with unwanted pathogens (E coli, for example). We use proven methods to reduce the risk of milk contamination. It is important to remember that no food safety plan is 100% fail-proof. However, good practices do reduce the risk of food-born illness, but cannot eliminate it.  Anyone who wishes to drink Raw Milk should make an informed choice. to help you do that,  we've provided the following links.
How do you Milk your COws?
We Milk our Cows using a milking machine.  This helps to reduce the risk of contamination of the milk. It is washed and sanitized before each use.
What do you Feed your Milk Cows?
The cows that we milk for the herd share have 24 hour access to quality grass and alfalfa hay all season as well as fresh grass during the grazing season.  They are not fed any grain.
